In August 2017, Beth Francis was diagnosed with chronic migraine and saw the life she wanted slowly crumbling away before her eyes. Instead of being full of life, she found herself tired, in pain and lethargic most days. But she decided to try and retake control of her health by using the best resource she had available – the sea.
The documentary, 100 Days of Vitamin Sea documents the journey of Beth and her partner Andy, in their attempt to regain health and connect with the natural environment around them.
Beth and Andy are now involved in a research project looking to apply the therapeutic benefits of cold water swimming to help other migraineurs. Beth and Andy won “Best Team Performance” at the 2018 WEGO Health Awards
On the 11th of September as part of Migraine Awareness Week 2019, Beth and her partner will attend the Irish premier of their documentary in the Irish Film Institute in partnership with The Migraine Association of Ireland.
There will be a panel discussion and reception following the screening.
Donna Cooney, Green Party Councillor and herself an avid sea swimmer, will open the premiere and chair the Q&A session afterwards.
