MAI have gathered a range of excellent, national and international migraine experts to do a series of talks, with the hope that it will provide a better overall understanding of what migraine is and how it affects us. For maximum benefit, we recommend that you view as many of the episodes as possible. To book a free place, please click on the individual links below.
There will be no live Q & A sessions for these events, however you are invited to send questions to us in advance. As we are unable to answer specific questions on individual circumstances, only questions of a general nature will be answered. For questions of a more personal nature, on individual circumstances or on specific medications please consult a medical specialist.
Understanding my Migraine:
Episode One: – Q & A with Prof. Peter Goadsby – Thurs Feb 11th at 6.30 pm – Prof. Peter Goadsby will look at the workings of migraine and the clinical effects of the disorder. – THIS EVENT HAS BEEN COMPLETED
Episode Two: – Phases of Migraine with Prof. David Dodick – Thurs Feb 25th at 7.00 pm – Prof. David Dodick will explore the science behind the different phases of migraine and associated symptoms. – THIS EVENT HAS BEEN COMPLETED Watch the video HERE
Episode Three: – Trigger Factors with CNS Esther Tomkins – Thurs Mar 4th at 6.30 pm –Specialist Nurse Esther Tomkins will explore how sensitive the migraine brain is and why things like stress can trigger an attack. – THIS EVENT HAS BEEN COMPLETED
Episode Four: – Perimenopause and Menopause with Dr. Mary Kearney – Mon Mar 8th at 6.30 pm – Specialist GP Dr. Mary Kearney will present a talk on how hormones affect women with migraine during perimenopause and menopause. This talk coincides with International Women’s Day #IWD2021. – THIS EVENT HAS BEEN COMPLETED Video will be uploaded soon
Episode Five: – Neuromodulation with Dr. Stewart Tepper – Thurs Mar 25th at 7.00 pm – Dr. Stewart Tepper will look at the science behind neuromodulation, and how it may be of benefit to migraineurs.- THIS EVENT HAS BEEN COMPLETED Watch the video HERE
Episode Six: – Preventative Treatments with Dr. Martin Ruttledge – Wed Mar 31st at 7.00 pm – Dr. Ruttledge will look at preventative treatments for high-frequency episodic and Chronic migraine, including Botox, GON Block and the newer anti-CGRP medications – THIS EVENT HAS BEEN COMPLETED Video will be available only to those who registered for the event for a period of one month from release.
Episode Seven: – Medication Overuse Headache with Dr. Eddie O’Sullivan – Wed April 14th at 6.30 pm – Dr. O’Sullivan will look at how medication overuse becomes a trap that migraineurs are susceptible to falling into and will look at how to treat Medication Overuse Headache, as well as how to avoid it in the first place.
