Exploring the Ketogenic Diet for Migraine Relief and Weight Loss

Curious about whether the ketogenic diet could help your migraine? Join us on January 15th at 6:30 p.m. for an informative and practical talk with nutritionist Aoife Kimber, where we’ll break down what keto really is and how it may support people living with migraine.

Often associated with weight loss, the ketogenic diet is a low-carbohydrate, high-fat way of eating that encourages the body to switch from using sugar to using fat (ketones) for energy. This change in fuel has important effects on the brain. Recent studies suggest that ketosis can help lower inflammation, stabilise brain activity and support brain energy production, to lower migraine frequency and intensity.

In this session, Aoife will explain the science behind the keto diet and, most importantly, show you how keto can be followed safely if it’s something you’re curious to try. You’ll learn which foods are keto-friendly, how to recognise when you’re in ketosis, how to use keto for weight loss and who should (and shouldn’t) consider this approach.  There will be plenty of time for questions and practical take-home tips.
