We are delighted to present Dr. Nick Silver, Consultant Neurologist and founder of the Headache Service in the Walton Centre in Liverpool.

Dr Silver’s interests are in the management of severe and refractory headache disorders, non-headache symptoms and presentations of headache disorders, chronic migraine and trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, especially cluster headache (CH) and hemicrania continua.

Monday March 21st is the Annual Cluster Headache Awareness Day. Thought to be influenced by the equinoxes, or change of seasons, CH appears to be more prominent in March and September.

Cluster Headache (CH) is an excruciating primary headache disorder that is 3 times more prevalent in men than women. CH involves one sided pain, although it can switch sides. the pain is often described by sufferers as feeling like a hot poker being stuck in their eye.

Attacks come in clusters that can last weeks or months. After each cluster, the attacks can disappear for months or even years.
